Freeing Up C-Drive Space by Deleting Windows.db
Background
When I was freeing up disk space on their computers, I noticed a large file named "windows.db" on the C drive. Sometimes, the file can take up storage space reaching several tens of GBs.
Solution
To open Services using a short account, locate "Windows Search", right-click to open its properties, change the "Startup type" to "Disabled", and then the service.
Navigate to the directory: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications\Windows, and then delete the folder named Windows.db.
